Street Light turn on 21/12/2012
It has been brought to the attention of the residents association meetings that the areas encompassing the entrance to the Palace Fields estate are extremely dark at night. This also conincides with a recent survey with Garda Declan Costello highlighting that the lighting to the front entrance of the estate is very poor. It has been suggested that a light be erected by the residents associations to light up both sides of the wall, that contains the "Palace Fields" name. This can easily be achieved via the use of one positioned in the correct place positioned in the wall area.
A company called Eco Tech Ltd. were contacted and are keen to supply and fix a solar powered light at the front entrance to Palace Fields. This company proposed a 360 degree solar powered street light with a four powerful LED floodlights could be erected at the "Palace Fields Stone Sign". This would provide more security to the front pathway and to the rear of the curved stone wall. Many visitors find it difficult to locate Palace Fields at night due to poor lighting at the front entrance, propose.
The running cost would be free as no electricity cable would be required. The price quoted is to €2,150.00 plus VAT dated the 15-Sept-11.
